Word-full Wednesday: Crufts Eve Links and Leads

ellie dreams of Crufts

It’s seems like ages since we started the competition to win some of Ellie’s tickets on Facebook and gave them away. But now Crufts is upon us! Tomorrow marks the start of the four-day spectacular and we cannot wait. Although Ellie won’t be joining us of course, she still has dreams of what it would be like to win something at this giant celebration of dogs. We both agree she would easily walk away with the doggy dancing crown. Ellie does the best pirouette you ever did see, and we WILL show you one day (furry promise). Myfie wonders if there’s an eating competition, and naturally Millie thinks she’d take Best in Show! What about you? Which prize would be yours for the taking, do let us know!

Anyway, since the pups do miss out on the actual event, like many of you who are from overseas, I thought it might be handy to give you some links. Of course, I will be going, but only for one day so I too will want to know what’s going on for the rest of the time.

My freind and I (this is an actual human! I do know some, honest) have chosen to attend on Friday… for, well, no particular reason. Crufts is a great days entertainment whenever you can make it. If there is anything you would like to know about more specifically, or anything you want us to check out please do let me know in the comments. I will be most happy to. For example, Myfie has asked me to take some pictures of some cute looking girls. Well, he actually wants me to find him a wife, because apparently these posh pups like a bit of ruff! But yeah, whatever Myfie, I can’t do magic.

The action from the arena will be live streamed every day on YouTube, Huzzah! The arena is where all the ‘activities’ take place, the doggy dancing, the flyball and agility, demonstrations, breed judging… everything! Click on that there cute little picture link above, and be taken straight to the Crufts channel, subscribe and you will be able to see more than those of us who are attending will. Oh there’s such a sweet video right there on the home page, it gave me goosebumps!

For those of us in the UK, More 4 will be covering the event LIVE as usual with the lovely, Claire Balding hosting. You can also watch OnDemand and More4+1 should you miss it first time around.
I’m not sure if those outside of the UK can access this content, but what I think you WILL be able to do is vote in the ‘Friends for Life’ comp. You can view the entrants stories on the Crufts YouTube channel if you have difficulty doing so via the More 4 website, but cast your vote from here: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/crufts#vote – please have tissues at the ready for these beautiful stories.

Information as it happens will also be rolled out on the Crufts website: http://www.crufts.org.uk/
And if you can stand to listen to me bleating on about it, I will also be sharing information and fun bits and pieces via our social media channels 🙂

Lastly, I would love you to check out this very informative, and very serious press conference…

… My money’s on Fritz, what about yours?
Thanks for battling through this post, if we’ve missed anything please let us know!

Crufts 2015: Win Some Tickets, Yay!

Crufts tickets graphics

It’s that time of the year again! The time of year where I start getting ridiculously excited and practically foam at the mouth. No, it’s not Christmas, but it does begin with the letter ‘C’… and it’s all about dogs so thinking about it, it might actually be my favourite time of the year! Yep, it’s CRUFTS! Ta Dah!

Well, it’s the run up to it at least, because the actual dates are Thursday 5, March – Sunday 8, March.

Crufts, as always is held at the Birmingham N.E.C. We’re lucky enough to be able to pop along ourselves again this year and even better than that… we get to invite you too! Some of you, at least, four to be exact.
Ellie is kindly offering to share a pair of her tickets with two lucky winners.

✭ Competition entry is over on our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/PawedCouture and the post is pinned to the top!
✭ Winners will be drawn on Sunday 22, February
✭ I will notify winners via Facebook and will need to obtain a postal address
✭ Tickets will be posted by Ellie the next day
✭ Due to timescale, I’m afraid this draw is for UK residents only (unless you happen to know you will be in the UK and able to attend on the dates AND you have a UK address for us to send tickets to).

✭ The competition is for a PAIR of tickets
✭ The tickets cannot be re-sold
✭ The tickets are valid for one day of your choosing from the four.
✭ If you choose to go on the Sunday, you cannot use this ticket to view ‘Best in Show’ in the arena, further costs will apply should you wish to see this. The ticket IS valid for the rest of the spectacular that is Crufts, though.
✭ You can’t take your own pooch I’m afraid 😦

Crufts takes place from 5 – 8 March 2015 at The NEC, Birmingham
Show opening times each day: 8:15 – 19:30

2015 Group Schedule (who’s being judged on that day):
✭ Thursday 5, March – Gundog
✭ Friday 6, March – Working and Pastoral
✭ Saturday 7, March – Terrier and Hound
✭ Sunday 8, March – Toy and Utility

But, of course, Crufts is about way more than judging breed standards these days. It’s a PACKED day and you need a little bit of planing beforehand to see everything you want to. Here’s just a little bit of info about what you can expect:

✭ 22,000 dogs competing for the world-class title of Crufts Best In Show
✭ The Arena showcasing fantastic displays and competitions
✭ Good Citizen Dog Scheme training ring, the UK’s largest dog training programme
✭ Dog Activities Ring, where you can learn how to unleash your dog’s potential
✭ Over 400 trade stands with special show offers and exciting new products for you and your best friend!

Crufts has competitions for everyone – kids, crossbreed dogs and more: http://www.crufts.org.uk/content/whats-on/
✭ Breeder’s Competition
✭ Eukanuba Friends For Life
✭ International Junior Handling
✭ Junior Warrant Competition
✭ Scruffts – Best Crossbreed

Discover Dogs / Finding the right breed http://www.crufts.org.uk/content/whats-on/discover-dogs-at-crufts/Get your paws on some actual fur!

If that’s not enough to convince you you’re missing out if you don’t pop along, why don’t you have a read about our day last year, here: https://pawedblog.wordpress.com/2014/03/11/crufts-2014-so-much-woof/
Don’t worry if you can’t make it though, particularly our overseas friends, we’ll be blogging along and boring you silly with this… lots! ❤

Don’t want to take the chance of missing out on tickets? or you’ve come to this post all disappointed because you didn’t win Ellie’s tickets?… I don’t blame you, worry not, click the link below and you can buy some right there.

Thanks for reading 🙂

Black & White Sunday: Pup Takeover

Myfie: Hey guys 😀 It’s Myfie here
Ellie: And Me!
Millie: And most impawtantly, me!… do you see what I did there?

Myfie: Yeah hilarious, but I am in charge today! My idea and I’m the boss. So there, shush! Where was I?
Ellie: You were trying to sound clever.
Millie: He IS clever, Ellie. The cleverest… I ❤ you, Myfie.
Ellie: *Yawn* Can you just get on with it if you’re gonna do this please?

Myfie: Yeah so… Hi! Mum hasn’t posted for a long time
Millie: And we were worried our fans missed us!
Myfie: Ahem… No, we missed YOU guys in blogville and we wondered what you were all up to? Mum is being reeaaallly lazy just lately, and sulking loads
Ellie: MYFIE!! That’s so mean, you can’t say that!
Myfie: Well that’s what it’s looked like to me!

Ellie: Mum has been poorly, and she’s worried she’s let everybody down and she’s been a bit sad recently.
Millie: Tell them how ace we are though. We’ve been looking after her and everything for ZERO PUBLICITY.
Ellie: That’s our job, Millie! Our job is to love, that’s all.
Myfie: So what about the work in the Shed!?
Ellie: That’s… we do that because it’s fun! And if mum sells loads of collars, she’ll buy us many Dentastix (other brands are available 😉 )
Millie: I need to speak to my agent!

Myfie: Right so anyway, since mum has been ‘poorly’ and what not, we thought we’d just take to our paws and do this thing ourselves. And to be perfectly honest, we’ll do a much better job. We know how this thing works by now!
Millie: You’re so right, I ❤ you, Myfie. You’re the only thing I love more than myself.

Millie: Here’s my selfie…
Myfie & Ellie: NOT YET!!!

millie blogger

Millie: Why not?? Too many words without a picture of me! mum wouldn’t do it like this!
Myfie: Well it should have been ME first, I’m the writer!!
Ellie: Don’t mean to sound like a know-it-all but you should have put it at the top. I thought you said this was easy and you could do better?
Myfie: Know-it-all!

Myfie: Here I am, some sort of annoying stain next to me though. :p

Myfie Ellie Bloggers

Ellie: HEY! I wasn’t ready.
Myfie: Hehehehe. Can we have a treat now? This is done, right?
Ellie: Who’s gonna do THAT? Mum doesn’t even know we are doing this!
Myfie: I didn’t think of that 😦 … what was the POINT!? I’m outta here!
Millie: At least people got to see my our pretty face faces!

Myfie: Come on! Let’s go make big eyes at mum so we get treats anyway!
Millie: You’re a genius, Myfie. I ❤ you!

*Myfie and Millie, gone like a herd of elephants*

Ellie: OI! WE AREN’T DONE!! What about the editing and the posting and stuff??

Myfie: *from afar* Pah ha! You snooze, you lose!! Make sure my name is BIG!!

Ellie: *grumble, grumble*

Halloween Spooktacular: This is HOWLoween

We are delighted to join in with the Halloween Spooktacular blog hop! We’ve been having lots of fun and Mum has been taking lots of pictures (as per usual)… here are the spoils.

pimpkin newsprint

That giant orange friend we were introduced to met his demise yesterday. Mum stuck knives and pins in him and said some words that turned the air blue. She said she has never carved a pumpkin before and this was her first attempt. We totally believe her because this is what it ended up looking like! We weren’t really sad about him meeting his end though, because he smelled soooo good!

Then we moved onto things that were much better looking…

All 3

That’s us! Mum muttered something about photo quality and light, because she is so unorganised it was nearly dark out by the time we posed for these. But anyway, we think it doesn’t really matter and you’ll get the message.

Ellie lay down

Ellie makes a great witch, she doesn’t really need a costume but mum put one on her anyway!

ellie sleep

The trouble is her hat always slips over her eyes, and when that happens it makes her sleepy. She wondered if this would be spooky enough in a Pirate-Witch kinda way. It didn’t really work but she wasn’t giving it up.

FrankrenMyf Sat

Next up is Myfie, we call him the Great FrankenMyf! Yeah his costume is a bit of a mish-mash so he ended up as a sort of Frankenstein-come-wizard type dude…

FrankenMyf laid down

He’s pretty happy with himself still, he says the spookiest thing about the whole event is how devilishly handsome he is anyway! (…yeah whatever dude)

Millie lay down

Millie is the cheeky little witch she always is, just with more colour! She didn’t really want to have her photographs taken, she was too busy sashaying around in her costume… until she saw us having ours taken and thought there might be some treats involved.

Millie sat look

She was all smiles then… Kinda!

We hope you all had an ArrrWwwOooOohHhhHHhHhHHHHh-ing good Howloween! Special thank you for the hosting of this special bloghop too!!

Won’t ya join in?

Black & White Sunday: My Writing Process Blog Tour

Hi everybody, we are going to be hopping and touring all over the shop today! Last Friday (I know, shame on me) the lovely Whitley (the zombie-huntin’ Westie) invited us along on this special blog tour all about our writing processes and when I took some photographs to show the process, well they worked best in black and white, so this post with the longest title ever was born 🙂

There are three questions to answer and we will try to do them justice. We’ll then be nominating some folks at the end of this post to keep this tour, touring 🙂

Allow me to pass you on to the genius behind this blog (they made me type that).

pups bloggin bw

1/ What am I working on?

Ellie: Mum’s blog! We are working on mum’s blog and making sure it is all about us! Mum is always down in that shed and she is working on making collars and leads and things from material with crazy patterns on them and stuff. We have no idea why she thinks we need so many, we would much prefer to just have one and go on more walks.

Millie: No! It’s very impawtant to look your best when greeting adoring fans, Ellie!

Myfie: She doesn’t have any adoring fans, she’s a grumpy walker and she shouts at everybody!

(*Myfie and Millie snigger*)

Ellie: I just like who I like, shut up! Notice who controls the mouse here.
Anyway, so mum is in the big dog kennel a lot which means we have to take control of things. She has told us that she would like to write more posts about what she is doing down there. Nobody wants to read about that though do they?? Why would you, when you can read about us?

2/ Why do I write what I do?

Carrie: I write what I am told I should write… if I had my way this blog would be…

Ellie: *yawn* BORING! This blog would be boring.

Myfie: We write about our adventures and experiences. It’s a good way for us to remember, because remembering things is tough. I think we should write about the food we eat and then we can see what other pups eat and that would be amazing because…

Ellie: Ahem… it is a great way to document things and meet other dogs with crazy humums and hudads from all over the world.

Millie: and show them how beautiful I am we are, and gets loads of fans and become famous and RULE THE WORLD!

Ellie: Millie, you’re such a little Shih Tzu! Can you two take this seriously please?

(*Myfie and Millie snigger*)

3/ How does my writing process work?

Myfie: Bwwwwhahaaaa rarely mum, it rarely works.

Carrie: I’m editing that out y’know, dog?

Ellie: Well, mum has been part of the puperazzi for a long time. She always has some kind of magic picture taker in her hand.

Myfie: It doesn’t always take magic pictures though, if I have anything to do with it!

Millie: you keep that up, Myf! The more you two refuse the more pictures there are of me ❤

Ellie: So yes, mum takes all these pictures and then if she had managed to get a good enough one she will write a blog post about what we were doing when she took the picture. Sometimes though, for a post like this one,  she will have to have a subject in mind and take the picture to match the subject. Then we all sit down together and we tell her what she is allowed to put in the post, and filter out any pictures that make us look silly.

Myfie: She doesn’t like doing these posts if there are no pictures does she?

Millie: Of course not, what’s the point if people can’t see us!?

Ellie: *sigh* Millie! I know that mum would love to post more but (she says) she is really busy, so she likes to have a structure. If there is time, she likes to write posts in between but her favourite days are Sundays (for Black and White Sunday) and Wednesdays (for Wordless Wednesday). They are like little goals she can work towards and she knows she will get a post out!

Myfie: Is this done yet? Do we get a treat for this?

Ellie: Who said treat??

*Yip, yip, bark, bark, squabble, run, run…. gone*

Err… thank you for taking the time to read through that! To keep this tour moving (hopefully with better answers) we would like to nominate:

Bentley and Pierre

But if you want to join in, please do!! And tell ’em we sent ya 😉

Black & White Sunday: Cut Short

We’ve been a little short on time this week here at Maison De Pawed, and so in celebration of that I had Myfie and Ellie have all of their hair cut short, too!…
No, that’s a lie, of course. But we did manage to squeeze a much needed grooming appointment in for my overly hairy hounds. I think the cuts get the paws up, because both were more than happy to strike a little pose for Black & White Sunday! What do you think? It’s about time, right?

In all seriousness though, this week has been manic for one reason and another (and another and another) so I am running a little behind, with both my blog and checking in with you all! So sorry, but I hope to make it up to you and be back on track really soon!

Much Woofs, Carrie (Myfie, Ellie and Millie) x
P.S. Happy Star Wars Day… May the 4th be with youuuu x
